Romance of the Perilous Land: Heroes of Avalon

Heroes are at the heart of any quest. They vanquish mighty dragons, rid vile tombs of sinister revenants and make oaths to protect kith and kin from the dark forces of the Otherworld. Heroes are the chosen few who ride out against all odds with hope in their hearts for a better tomorrow, inspiring those who live on the precipice of doom. Every hero has a calling - a special spark within them that makes them who they are. There are thousands of knights across the land, but few have the calling to protect each sacred well from corruption. Likewise, a thousand hunters scour the wilderness for food, but seldom can a hunter bond with a wolf so strongly as a Wolfmaster.

Heroes of Avalon is a supplement for Romance of the Perilous Land: A Roleplaying Game of British Folklore that gives characters new customisation options in the form of Heroic Callings. These are packages of Backgrounds and Talents that you can include at character creation to better realise the kind of hero you’re playing. These include:
