Break Zone Skirmish Game
A downloadable game
This is a playtest of Break Zone, a minimalist skirmish game.
Break Zone is an exciting tactical skirmish game where two players control opposing factions—the Terran Republic and the Consortium—battling for control of key zones on a 2ft x 2ft grid. Using strategic placement, terrain, and unit abilities, players compete to dominate the battlefield and outmaneuver their opponent without the need for measurement.
- A table with a small footprint: 2x2ft divided into 9 zones, with Break Zones that must be controlled to win.
- No Measurement: With zone movement there's no need to measure.
- Just One Stat: Attacks and defenses are determined by rolling dice based on a unit's Battle score . Even numbers are successes, with additional successes for perfect rolls.
- Unit Customization: Build a 40-point squad of custom units, using your imagination to come up with new units with dynamic qualities.
- Zone Hazards: Hazards change the dynamic of a zone, forcing you to consider your movement, or whether to tactically burn a zone to block off the enemy.
- Faction Strategies: Each faction has unique strategies (e.g., Air Control for the Terran Republic, Lay Waste for the Consortium) that grant bonuses when completed.
- Just Two Pages: All of this in just two A4 pages
