Can you get an entire skirmish game on a business card? Yes!

Pentecost is a skirmish game based around Arthurian warfare as imagined in Le Morte d'Arthur. Command your forces against the enemy on an area suitable for any kitchen table.

The unique command roll allows players to swap out poor rolls for better ones, but doing so can change who acts first - so use wisely!

TDG, please, clarify your last answer. By "first" what do you mean?

"keep the command dice, with new (higher or lower) values" :)

Regarding the Command Dice, in the text it says "...new round begins with current lowest command total." This implies you either

  • keep the command dice, with new (higher or lower) values, or
  • Spend the dice used for replacing rolls and have a smaller command total due to fewer dice?

So, are the Command Dice a limited resource, or an ever-changing resource pool?

I need to clarify this better with the word count I have. It's the first.

Thanks a lot for the clarification!

the first means the first item you point out or the first thing you asked in your last question? Im confused.

Now that you mention it, I'm getting confused again myself! :P

I just read it as TDG saying the first bullet point was correct.

hahaha

Semantic nitpicking but… you don’t “fire” a bow or a spear. “Shoot” would be much more appropriate.

Can you clarify the command dice? I roll 5D6 and then replace a rolled die with a command die?

Yeah, so you roll them after deployment as a pool of dice. You can then use a command die instead of a die you rolled.

Where does the command die come from? What is its value?

Ah, I see where the ambiguity it. The command dice are the dice you roll at the beginning. Any one of those command dice can replace a die you roll (like an attack).

Ahh I see now! I wasn't grokking that the rolled die you were talking about was one that comes later when you're rolling an attack or save.

Thank you for explaining!
